2021

  • Dec 2021: I joined NAVER LABS as a research engineer!
  • Nov 2021: I successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation presentation!
  • Sep 2021: The Scan Context++ paper is accepted for T-RO journal.
  • May 2021: I had a talk at the ICRA21 radar workshop and introduced radar data and MulRan dataset [talk video].
  • Mar 2021: I passed the Ph.D. thesis proposal presentation.

2020

2019

  • Oct 2019: I visited ICCV 2019 and met people of SLAM-Korea FB group.
  • Oct 2019: I released Scan Context Python and PyICP-SLAM project code.
  • Jun 2019: I initiated MulRan (Radar + LiDAR dataset) project and first used Ouster LiDAR. During this project, I was advised Dr. Jinyong Jeong to build and extend a car-platform sensor system.
  • May 2019: I visited Montreal, Canada, and had a presentation of the RA-L paper at ICRA 2019 (my first 2-hour interaction session).
  • May 2019: I was awarded ICRA 2019 RAS Travel Grant.
  • Apr 2019: I visited Czech Republic to start a co-work with prof. Tomas Krajnik.
  • Mar 2019: I officially started to study as a Ph.D student.
  • Feb 2019: The urban analysis journal paper was accepted and published.
  • Jan 2019: I developed the ICRA18-workshop paper with Dr. Byungjae Park of ETRI, and it was accepted at RA-Letter with ICRA19 presentation optioin . (I had my first robotics journal rebuttal process)

2018

  • Dec 2018: I successfully defended my MS thesis.
  • Oct 2018: I visited University of Girona for 2 weeks to study underwater SLAM.
  • Oct 2018: I had a oral presentation of LiDAR place recognition paper (Scan Context) paper at IROS 18, Madrid, Spain.
  • Jul 2018: I made a bike sensor system from scratch for Venture Research Program.
  • Jun 2018: My LiDAR place recognition paper was accepted at IROS 2018.
  • Jun 2018: I was selected for KAIST College of Engineering’s MS/Ph.D student Venture Research Program.
  • May 2018: I visited Brisbane, Australia. I had my first oral presentation at an international conference (ICRA 2018), and won the best paper award) of the Long-term Autonomy workshop.
  • Apr 2018: The long-term localization paper was accepted at a ICRA 18 workshop.

2017

  • Dec 2017: I got a my first oral presentation (non-published) at RiTA 2017.
  • Jul 2017: I interned at ETRI and was advised by Dr. Sunglok Choi .
  • May 2017: I attended ICRA 17 at Singapore and had my first ever poster session.
  • Mar 2017: I was accepted at a 1 page abstract for ICRA 2017 late-braking poster session.
  • Mar 2017: I officially joined Intelligent Robotic Autonomy and Perception (IRAP) lab, KAIST, as MS student, advised by prof. Ayoung Kim .

2016

  • Oct 2016: I visited IROS 2016 (Daejeon, South Korea).
  • Sep 2016: I started a undergraduate student researcher at IRAP lab.
  • Jun 2016: I finished the TA of CE352 (signal processing, lectured by prof. Ayoung Kim), Spring 2016.
